Course information:

Law enforcement officials responsible for conducting criminal investigations are involved in the objective search for the truth in every facet of an investigation, including interviews and interrogations. Interview and interrogation techniques are becoming highly scrutinized by the courts as well as members of the jury. Investigators must provide prosecutors with several items that meet the legal and ethical requirements for admission in court.

This live, interactive four (4) hour webinar provides methods for establishing rapport, developing case-specific themes, proper room setup, the difference between an admission and a confession, and techniques to ensure the interview is conducted in a legal manner.

Dallas Police Department (Retired)

Joe Garza served 30 years with the Dallas Police Department before retiring in April 2018. He spent 7 years in the Narcotics Division as an undercover officer, 5 years in the Crimes Against Persons Division as a robbery detective, and 12 years as a Sergeant serving as a supervisor over the Public Corruption Unit and Homicide Unit. On July 7, 2016, Joe supervised the interviews and interrogations on the worst day in Dallas Police history when four Dallas officers and one Dart officer were gunned down in downtown Dallas.
