For forensic ESI Scene Investigators, the “ESI Scene Assessment” is the first access that we have in our investigations. Whether digital science or traditional elements; however, we approach and assess the scene evidence is the starting point of a good investigation. In the television era of “CSI” and “The First 48”, investigators must adapt and adjust their
mindset to new technology and new ever-changing forensic perspectives.

The student will learn how to properly assess ESI forensic scenes, scenarios, digital evidence, and evolving situations to gather information that will provide a foundation in their forensic investigations. Explore different forensic investigative methods to review, verify, delegate, and discover evidence from scene scenarios, various evidence leads, and
eye witnesses. 

This live, interactive two (4) hour webinars will provide a step-by-step process on the proper methods to forensic investigator assessment to locate digital evidence clues as lead investigator.

Dr. Troy Looney, Akron (Ohio) Police Department (Active)

Troy Looney, PhD. has served 28 years with the Akron (Ohio) Police Department and counting. Troy spent the last 8 years as a Detective assigned to the Midnight DB Crimes against Persons unit. Troy investigates all Major Crimes against Persons for Major Felony Crimes, including: Homicide, Robbery, Burglary, Kidnapping, and Sexual Assaults. During his 20 years in uniform patrol, he answered various calls for service, combined with preliminary investigations. Det. Looney has been assigned to a Task Force for 2 years with multiple Federal Agencies.
