Steve Grammas
began his law enforcement career at the age of 18 after graduating high school. After 2.5 years of working as a patrol assistant (Cadet,) Steve went to the police academy. After graduating near the top of his class, Steve worked in the patrol field as an officer, field training officer, and eventually assigned to a plain-clothes investigative assignment conducting plain clothes investigations as well as drafting arrest/ search warrants.
Steve transferred to the narcotics section in 2009 where he worked on a street team, mid-level team and a pharmaceutical investigation team. While assigned, Steve was an active case agent and undercover officer.
In 2014, Steve was chosen to represent officers as a full-time released union steward. In 2016, Steve was elected President of the union, a position he still holds to this day.
Steve holds his associate degree in Criminal Justice out of Eastern Gateway Community College. Steve also obtained his blue belt in Brazilian jiu jitsu and has competed in the North American Grapplers Association. Steve had also instructed with Chad Lyman of Code 4 combative in police jiu jitsu.
Steve’s father was a police officer in New York as well as at LVMPD, along with his brother, brother-in-law, and nephew. Steve is married to a retired Dispatcher of 15 years and has 4 daughters between the ages of 18 and 11.
