Course Overview:

PLET instructors have combined their many years of experience to create a training program that will teach investigators the dynamics of sex trafficking and the use of the Dark Web to locate sex traffickers hiding in areas of the internet that go unchecked by most law enforcement officers.

Criminals are increasingly utilizing the Dark Web to conduct their illicit activities to include advertising sex trafficking and child-exploitation crimes.
 
Investigators should have a basic understanding of the different types of the web to include the surface web, deep web, and dark web in order to expand and complete their investigations. This course will include detailed information on popular “Market Places” where most criminal activity takes place. In addition, investigators will receive in-depth information concerning various forums where sex trafficking activities are occurring. 
 
Investigators will learn various techniques on how to access the dark web with an emphasis on operational security when using secure devices, Tails operating system, and encrypted email addresses to communicate with sex traffickers.
 
Investigators will also learn how Cryptocurrency is utilized as a method of payment on the dark web. Bitcoin, Monero, and Zcash are preferred payment types on many marketplaces. 
 
This highly interactive training will include live demonstrations on various marketplaces and forums will be conducted. Investigators will have the opportunity to establish covert dark web accounts and crypto currency wallets.
