Eric Charaska is currently a Police Sergeant in Las Vegas, Nevada. He currently assigned to the Internal Affairs Bureau. He is currently responsible for conducting internal investigations on approximately 500 officers.

Prior to leading a team in Internal Affairs, Eric was a patrol sergeant in one of the busiest tourist corridors in the world with approximately 38 million tourists visiting per year.

Eric also served in the Vice Section as a detective for six years, where he conducted undercover operations for two years, then spent four years as a sworn Federal Task Force Officer (TFO) assigned to the Southern Nevada Human Trafficking Task Force.
 
While working as an undercover detective in the Vice Section, Eric conducted operations in situations ranging from multi-billion-dollar casinos to street level prostitution stings, to illicit business operations in massage parlors involved in international sex trafficking operations.

While conducting human trafficking investigations, Eric also served on the SWAT Team as a negotiator. He was involved in approximately 240 negotiations involving hostage rescues, barricaded suspects, and suicidal individuals. He eventually became an instructor at the negotiator school.
 
During his tenure as a Human Trafficking Investigator and a Crisis Negotiator, Eric gained experience in authoring and executing technology-based search warrants on social media companies, GPS trackers, PEN registers, and other technology-based sources. He is also well-versed in exploiting open-source information. 
 
Eric received a master’s degree in business administration in 2021 and a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice in 2007 which included coursework in constitutional law and terrorism activities. He also currently holds certifications for Nevada Basic, Intermediate, and Advanced Police Officer Standards and Training (POST).

Eric received numerous awards and accommodations to include the Medal of Honor and the Life Saving Award. On October 1st, 2017, Eric was involved in on-scene intelligence operations during the Route 91 mass shooting.
